Petya Georgiev, LAC

I came to Chinese medicine through movement and touch. With a background in yoga and East Asian philosophy, this medicine felt like a natural extension of how I already lived and understood health. Shiatsu became my first love, and for the past five years I’ve had the privilege of both practicing and teaching it as a TA. I’ve found that this kind of intentional touch doesn’t just ease muscles, it helps the whole body exhale.

In clinic, I focus on sleep, pain, and the ripple effects of chronic illness. My doctoral capstone explored how moxibustion can influence dreaming and restore healthy sleep, reflecting my curiosity about the subtle ways mind and body communicate. I’ve also worked with patients facing autoimmune conditions, chemotherapy side effects, and MS.

I see healing as an ongoing conversation. Every patient carries unique wisdom about their own body, and my role is to listen, offer tools, and walk alongside you in the process.

Originally from Bulgaria, I studied linguistics and speech–language pathology in New York City. Along with my doctorate in Chinese medicine from the National University of Natural Medicine, this background allows me to bring a multicultural perspective to my practice. My training includes advanced work with Edie Vickers at IEP and diverse clinical rotations at Quest Center for Integrative Health, Lair Hill, and the VOA men’s residential program.

Outside the clinic, I’m a certified yoga teacher and acrobat, both of which continue to inspire my curiosity about movement, resilience, and the many stories the body knows how to tell.
