I am a licensed massage therapist specializing in Shiatsu and Myofascial release.
Shiatsu is an ancient Japanese method for harmonizing the body and improving circulation through a variety of bodywork techniques including presses, rocking, and assisted stretches. Shiatsu uses the same understanding of the flow of energy (qi) through the meridians that informs the practice of Acupuncture.
Myofascial release is a more modern method that focuses on slow movement of fascial tissue to bring about a softening of tight muscles.
With these two complementary methods, it is my intention to help people be more at ease in their bodies by improving both body awareness and the flow of energy throughout their bodies. With this ease we can find a reduction in pain and a clarity of mind.
During our sessions, you will be fully clothed, so dress comfortably. Loose fitting clothing is perfect, or however you might dress for yoga or exercise will work great. If possible, remove any belts and jewelry before we get started. We will work to make sure you are comfortable for your entire session.
